Having a sale when the shelves are bare

The shelves are getting rather bare at AEON (formerly Jaya Jusco) in Perda, Bukit Mertajam.
It is no secret that they are relocating their business to their own commercial building in Jalan Rozhan, just across the road from their main rivals, TESCO Bukit Mertajam.

I hear that AEON will open in Jalan Rozhan in June and in the meantime, they are winding down their operations at Perda.

When I visited the shopping complex last week, their staff were already clearing off most of the stuff from the shelves, despite there being a sign saying that their relocation sale would be held until the 15th of April. What sale can there possibly be when the shelves are bare?

I'm not going to speculate who will be the new anchor tenant of the Seberang Prai City shopping complex when AEON moves out. Could just be about any business silly enough to move in here. The problem with this shopping complex is that it had been built by the Federal Government-controlled Penang Regional Development Authority (Perda), and one of Perda's conditions for anyone doing renovation is that a Perda-approved contractor must be appointed. With their rates being hardly competitive at all, where's the fairness if no-one else can compete with them in doing business? This would be the downfall of Perda in the long run.

Old Mother Hubbard
Went to the hypermarket,
To give the poor dog a bone;
When she came there,
The hypermarket was bare,
And so the poor dog had none.

Bare...

Bare......

Bare..........

 Bare............

So sad to see Aeon Perda close down, it's opening coincided with my family moving into a rented 4th floor flat in Taman Usahaniaga, we had just moved in a couple of months, and Aeon opened, so we viewed it as exceptional good fortune that we had a place to escape te afternoon heat, I spent many afternoons there with my mom, she passed away September 2013 at 59, so Aeon closing down now is espiecially poignant for me, as it feels like a important book has ended. Me and Mom would sit and enjoy the cool air as the top floor flat is quite hot. A lot of memories,
I was there just before they shut on 30 th May, Just walking around the empty ailes, hoping mom will pop roumd the next corner one final time,
They used to have 50% offers on marinated chicken and beef in the evenings, and the library was a nice place to pass time,
Mr.D.I.Y shop was the only shop with anything to buy ! Do you visit Aeon Perda a lot ? Do you stay in B.M ?
I was just at the 4 th June opening of Aeon Alma, were you there ? I must say I was very impressed, it's like a mall in KL, Ikano or The Curve standard, and it was ready amazingly fast ! Sadly the bus service there is an unpleasent expierience, especially having to take 3 seperate buses from where I am currently residing now, Telok Air Tawar. I have also enjoyed the Hong Kong posts, Is day to day expenses for visiting Malaysians very much higher ? The low fares from Penang meke it oh so tempting :).
