Lunch dana @ home

We invited six Theravadin Buddhist monks from the Nandaka Vihara Meditation Society for lunch dana at our residence. Among them were two local monks, one from Myanmar, and three from Sri Lanka. Lunch dana is a practice where monks visit to offer blessings, perform Buddhist chants, and share teachings for the benefit of everyone in the household, including friends and relatives who may be present. This unique occasion allows for open discussions and questions about Buddhism, providing an opportunity for deeper understanding. In gratitude for their blessings and chanting, we had the privilege of serving lunch to them.

Many thanks to family and friends who lent their support. Lai Kuan and Fang Yi contributed their peanut soup and mochi balls, Cheok San and Swee Hiang came with their yam kueh and cut fruits, Sister Yong with her salad bowl, Boon Leong and Eng Keong who brought bananas. Our appreciation to Mohven and Richard who drove the monks to and from the Nandaka Vihara.
