With the opening of the KLIA2 budget terminal on 2 May 2014, the simplest and most direct connection between the KLIA main terminal building (MTB) and KLIA2 is the Express Rail Link (ERL). I would recommend that passengers take either the KLIA Express or the KLIA Transit services, both of which are operated by ERL.
The ride takes a mere three minutes and the cost is only RM2 per person. The KLIA2 ERL station is located on Level Two of the Gateway@KLIA2 complex. But please note that you shall have to clear Immigration and Customs first upon arrival at KLIA2 before proceeding to the MTB if you have to catch a connecting flight from there, and vice-versa too.
And if you need to travel to and from the KL Sentral in the city, the KLIA Express and the KLIA Transit services are also the fastest and most convenient modes of transportation available, although the bus shuttles and commercial taxis are also alternatives.
Below is a graphic that explains in a nutshell all the possible connectivity from the KLIA and KLIA2 terminals to Kuala Lumpur and elsewhere within the Klang Valley.

Typical .. typical... Malaysian culture... first world services, third world mentality.
What a shame?
Do more for the sake of transit air travellers.
how to make a route? beside runaway..? build subway..? spent another RM50 mil to get 10 min journey? I think we can get a direct way if we pay another 3 - 4 RM... if give choice.. people will choice RM1.50 anyway...
What's your problem?
Go take an air-con limousine.
The Ugly Singaporean seems to rears his head everywhere. Hydra has nothing on you guys.

Spot on! A year ago when I boarded the bus on my first ever arrival in KL (was coming from Australia, but am from Europe) until I got off at the KLIA main terminal, I was convinced I'd been put on a wrong bus. It most certainly did not look like an airport shuttle bus! Next month I'm facing the same in reverse, that's how I ended on this page. Maybe I will have to take the limo suggested by some smarty pants!
This bus is better than the Shark Taxis!!
Thanks for the info!
When i used AirAsia the first time i did not know that they were not located at MTB (KLIA). I took the direct train from KL to the airport to find out i was wrong. Trying to get across the airport i spend RM25 for the 15 minute ride. What a rip-off! So i don't mind spending less on a junk bus. If the airport cannot afford an underground subway, because it would not pay off due to the low traffic at least they allow a bus to compete with Malaysia's Sharks (the Teksi or Taxi)!

Nice and useful information and nice picture in your post.
thanks
shuttle bus service
I am sick and tired of you Malaysians criticizing your own country. If it is third world mentality, what are YOU doing about it? You can always point it to the next guy, but it is still all you.
hey dude, thanks for the information. that's helpful :)
so if i'm in a rush, is it better to just take the taxi than taking the shuttle bus?
Yes, it is always more convenient to take the taxi from the airport as it will drop you off at any destination. But of course, it is also more expensive.
Thanks for this! Do you think 2hrs gap is good enough to catch another flight at LCCT travelling from KLIA?
Thanks for this! Do you know if 2 hours gap is good enough to catch another flight at LCCT travelling from KLIA?
You will have to decide for yourself whether two hours is good enough. Please factor in possible flight delays. But personally, I've taken connecting flights with two-hour difference with no difficulty. But as I said, please make your own decision.
hey this is definitely helpful. but do you know if is it still operating? i need to transit from lcct to klia this coming february and taking taxi would be so expensive. do tell me if you know, thanks :)
Yes, the popular bus service should still be operating between the KLIA and the LCCT between 6am and midnight every day.
Thanks for sharing.
Anyway, may i know the exactly place to wait this shuttle bus? is it same place like AirAsia bus park area?
Steve, yes, all the bus bays are on the left when you exit the LCCT terminal. This bus is at the far end.
I am travelling to Indonesia from Islamabad and have received ticket from the Indonesian Govt. I am a Pakistani by Nationality.
The flight route is Islamabad - Bangkok - Kuala Lumpur (Main Terminal) and then using Air Asia (LCC Terminal) to Bandung, Indonesia.
How do i transfer from KL Main Terminal to LCC Terminal without crossing Immigration. I dont have the Malaysian Visa ? Is there any train connecting the two Terminals.
Ad: you cannot avoid immigration. And no, there is no train service connecting the two terminals.
hi this is really great information. i have used this shuttle sometime in Aug 2011 and it is fairly reliable with a 2hr gap.
However this was in the morning.
Would it be dependent on sometime in the evening? Does anyone have any experience on this?
I have no complaints as it's value for our hard earned money.
I completely agree with your article. It’s possible to know about it and it will snow me good ways of this topic. This is very nice post! I will bookmark this blog.
How about the reverse transfer?
I want to go from MTB to LCCT? I have 2 hours to land at MTB, clear immigration, collect my bags, taxi/bus to LCCT, have my bags scanned when I arrive at LCCT and check in (all in 1 hour) to beat the 1 hour check-in deadline on AirAsia.
Is this remotely possible in the total two hour stopover?
My flight will be landing at 1.30. A.M by the time the immigration process finish I will be out @ 2.A.M from KLIA International.
I would like to find out whether your company provide any Shuttle Services From KLIA- International to KLIA 2 Transportation Hub - or are there any Shuttle services available at this time Please let me know
Hope to receive a quick response.
Thank You.If any one know or any suggestions are welcome.Thank You

Dear Anonymous, this is an independent blog and I do not represent any of the operators at the KLIA or KLIA2. As far as I know, the last train on the KLIA Express leaves KLIA at one o'clock in the morning. There is also an express coach service to the KL Sentral but unfortunately, they don't operate round-the-clock too. If there is no train or coach service, the other option should be the taxi or limousine service from the airport. Taxi/Limo coupons should be purchasable from the official counter outside the arrival hall. Do look around.

hye all, to your knowledge. we in Malaysia have various kinds of taxis which are meter taxis Klang valley (red, green, yellow, blue: can take passanger anyway at Klang Valley), meter taxi Executive (blue, can go peninsula), TEKS1M (Gold, can go peninsula) , Town Taxi (Taxi Town: Seremban, Johor EXT) Airport Taxi (only can take pasangger from airport). they all have a road permission (PERMIT) different, where they can and can not take passengers. for example Taxi Airport (for KLIA: LIMO, KLIA 2: Red, Black, Family van based coupons) Permit Taxi Airport only allows: sending passengers out of the airport with the coupon price includes the toll, then back to the airport without passengers to take a queue number & wait for the next trip. because the airport taxi permit only authorized to take passengers from the airport to a place or from one place to the airport only. for information, each piece coupons airport taxi, the driver is subject to charges 9% by Q manager (MIJ Counter) example: price KL RM75 - 9% -Toll = 'balance for drivers'. , also for information, the number of airport taxis at KLIA 2 totaling 2200 units (Budget of the Premier coupon + Coupon Coupon + Family Van). airport taxi meter was added first by SPAD on the grounds of lack of taxi during peak hours which causes registration by meter taxi to klia2 in June 2015 amounted to 7500 data from the Q Manager MIJ. SO, Airport Taxi + Taxi Meter + ERL + 24 hours BUS + Family Pickup. whether sufficient number of passengers? so that the real victims in this case is the 2200 airport taxi, we had to wait up to 12 hours just for one trip, minimum waiting time is 4 hours for 1 trip (2016). in my personal opinion, the voucher (coupon) is better for the airport, because there is no opportunity to guide others to cheat your way or foreign tourists. because they will find a way fastest and shortest way to get to their destinations. many of my enlightenment, Member of the Supreme Council klia2 Airport Taxi Association (PKPT klia2): Baron9779
