When was the last time that you came across a spiral staircase in a house? I know a beauty salon in Butterworth that installed one a few years ago but that doesn't count. It would have been too modern. I meant an old house with its own spiral staircase. I dare say there should still be several in the heritage part of George Town. Like this one. This is the interior of 4 King Street, Penang. Don't you just love the spiral staircase? As it spirals towards the top, the steps get narrower and smaller until at last you step off onto what's supposed to be the attic. More about this place later....
