I hadn't the opportunity to write this earlier but there was this brilliantly full moon over Kuala Lumpur on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival which is celebrated by people of Chinese ethnicity throughout the world. In Penang, I would normally have spent my morning at the Quah Kongsi for our annual worship of the deities and before the memorial tablets but here I am in Kuala Lumpur to attend the closing ceremony of the Malaysia Chess Festival yesterday.
It is not often that I see a full moon during the Mid-Autumn Festival, not least because this time of the year tend to be rainy and wet which makes the sky cloudy enough to prevent the moon from being clearly visible.
