Baju kebaya

At our son's wedding dinner on Sunday, we had cousin Amy, cousin Peggy, dear wifey and sister Judy surprising everyone, including themselves, by their Baju Kebaya attire. Totally unplanned but the message was very clear: you can take the Baba Nyonyas away from Penang but you cannot take Penang away from the Baba Nyonyas. With the Baju Kebaya at the dinner, we revealed our true-blue Baba Nyonya heritage. Despite some of us not staying in Penang any more, these are still our roots, and they are not something to be easily forgotten.
