Fever, election fever!

Election fever is heating up Penang and the Democratic Action Party (DAP) feels the time is right to make another foray into the State. Already, we've been hearing that Lim Guan Eng, DAP's secretary-general and son of veteran opposition politician Lim Kit Siang, is going to contest in Penang. I think it is a foregone conclusion.

I don't have any political leanings but maybe, it is time for a change. I did mention to somebody about a week ago that regardless of how the Chinese vote at the elections, they'd be screwed eventually by the Barisan National (BN). If the Chinese elect the BN into power, what the possibility that the non-Malays will not be taken for granted? And if the Chinese don't support the BN candidate, what's the guarantee that the rights of the non-Malays will not be further eroded? So either way, it's not a win-win situation.

So perhaps, it IS time for a change and see what happens.

That's why I was so titillated earlier today to read this news item (below) in The Star's online page. Blogger Jeff Ooi is also coming to Penang. Interesting, right? Whether he'll succeed or not in Bukit Bendera, that's left to be seen. After all, he has to convince the voters of Bukit Bendera first that he is the right fellow for them. I'm not a voter there but I wish him the best of luck all the same.

By the way, why only 99.996 percent chance of contesting in Penang? Mmm.... it looks like Jeff Ooi is contesting in Penang, it even sounds like Jeff Ooi is contesting in Penang, but it's not 100 percent. You know what I mean?? Lingam would've been proud of him!
