These two remarks were referenced by Badaruddin Mohamed, A. Ghafar Ahmad and Izzamir Ismail in their paper on "Heritage route along ethnic lines: the case of Penang" which was presented to the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) in Year 2000:
