Falling victims

Anyone with a curious or passing interest in racism, hate, sleaze and truthism will find the Internet full of such sites. They have their own group of followers. Usually, they are left well alone until someone takes offence and complains. Then the sites will get blocked or removed. In recent months, the Malaysian government has become quite enlightened with the workings of the Internet and become quite efficient to take offence with some of these sites. It's like a new toy or a new broom to them. Since many of these sites are blog-based and hence hosted on known blog services like Wordpress, Typepad or Blogger, they become easy meat for the powerful who complains against them. This is one such blog site that has fallen victim:

Sometimes I wonder whether it is possible to block or remove such sites at all. Like the owners here say, they have several other domain names to choose from. No big deal. If one gets removed, another can pop up within hours. And you don't need a geek to teach you how to use an Internet search function to find the new sites. It's always a cat and mouse game going on between the perpetrator of the misdeeds and the perpetrated. Nothing is permanent and nobody can ever claim a final victory. Impermanance is the essence of life.
