Malaysia comes first

For the whole of last week, I hear that Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and State Executive Councillor Chow Kon Yeow had been in the United States to drop in on investors like National Instruments, Dell and AMD.

I've also been hearing that they had met students in Los Angeles. "It is an honour to be here to speak to you and I hope your presence here will inspire you to return back to your homeland. Malaysia needs you and don't forget the ones there," he was reported as saying.

I like that: Guan Eng putting nation before self and speaking to these young Malaysians abroad as a Malaysian first.

Unlike some who consider Malaysians abroad as pariahs of the nation. I am hopeful of this man. Like many others, we are hopeful that sanity will prevail and Malaysians will make US and Malaysia their homes.
