Openly snoozing on the job
This entry comes with the courtesy of one of my former colleagues from the old BHL Bank days. He took this snap shot at the Queensbay Mall in Bayan Lepas recently. See the opened safe on the left? What's happening was that an ATM in the shopping mall was being replenished. The chap on the left was supervising the opening of the ATM's safe. However, what caught his eye was the old guard. The black sack beside him looked very important if you know what it contained but he was snoozing on the rubbish can instead of helping to take care of it. Just wondering too whether it was a gun slung around his shoulder. Whatever it is, maybe that's his way of helping out in the ATM cash replenishment exercise. What a vast difference from my own old banking days of 20 years ago. We didn't have the luxury of a sleeping guard. Like my friend said, he felt "safe" with the uncle guarding his money! Do you?

Thats called taking a power nap so that he will be ready to spring into action if any thing untoward happens, that is if he is still able to do so.I must say being a security guard is a downer, its vast moments of sheer boredom terminated by sometimes short spells of sheer terror.I don't envy them.
