America votes 2008

The American people go to the polls today to pick their latest president. I'm not holding my breath on the eventual winner (first results are already coming in here) but this comic strip sums up the feelings on the ground quite well.


The people there want change and they will get it. But it is all very deja vu. Eight months ago, the people here wanted change too. Some of us got it, some did not. But in the end. nothing much seemed to have changed at the top. Same old talk, same old bravado, same old faces, same old politics, same old prejudices, same old fuck. Faces may change but policies do not. I hope the American people have more luck with their choice of Barack Obama or John McCain!
